All you need to know
What are calories?

A calorie is a unit that is used to measure energy. The Calorie you see on a food package is actually a kilocalorie (kcal), or 1,000 calories.
Calories are essential for human health. The key is consuming the right amount and boys aged 13-16 should consume 2 200 to 3 200 calories per day on average. However, foods high in energy but low in nutritional value provide empty calories. Thus, eat foods that provide good nutritional value!

How to Count Calories
1. You start small first. If you are consuming too many calories, cut down on them bit by bit. Slowly, you will get into a routine of eating the right amount of food for a healthy eating diet.
2. Track your meals. You can track your meals, even snacks. By doing estimate calorie counts, you can guess whether you have taken too many calories or not. You should also see the food labels for snacks for easier counting. (For your meals in the canteen, we have counted the calories for you!)
3. Stick with a plan. You can make a plan for yourself to stick to each day. That way, you are sure of how many calories you take. You can alternate between different diet plans to not get tired of a single diet.
